Brenda is President of Lane Oliver Consulting, LLC, based in Maryland. She is an entrepreneur and nationally recognized trainer on Leadership Skills with more than 20 years of management and consulting experience. She provides leadership training and coaching in numerous industries including: healthcare, automotive, technology, legal, education, and real estate. Brenda has assisted federal, state, local government employees in implementing performance evaluation systems, setting up self-managed teams and providing leadership training to managers and professionals at all levels.
Brenda was instrumental in leading an organization in far exceeding its work performance expectations. She worked as Senior Quality Advisor for an agency with 61,000 employees. Brenda has trained more than 25,000 employees. She takes pride in helping organizations implement change and boost morale.
She is also in the real estate business. She is a luxury homes marketing specialist and assist homeowners with short sales and distress properties. She held the position of Training Director and is a member of the Agent Leadership Council for Keller Williams Select Realtors in Ellicott City, MD. Brenda is an active member of the Howard County Real Estate Million Dollar Club.
Brenda holds both Bachelor and Masters of Science degrees from Johns Hopkins University. She is a graduate of the Harvard Business School Executive Leadership Program. Brenda is the author of the book Stand Up and Be Counted Now: Executive and Professional Leadership Development for Women.
A past president of the Maryland Chapter of the American Society for Training & Development (ASTD), Brenda represented Maryland in the National ASTD initiative to Train America’s Workforce, and has received several Outstanding Service Awards for her leadership in the organization. She is the publisher of the Lane Chronicle, and has written for Training & Development Magazine. Brenda is an actor, too, having played a business executive in a career development commercial for Catonsville Community College, and she’s been a featured guest on WEAA (88.9 FM), WOLB (1010 AM) and Channel 7 (WHRE). A sought-after judge for speaking contests, she has served as a judge for Toastmasters International competitions and as an annual judge for the Next Generation Venture Fund Scholar Program (Biz Camp). She is on several non-profit boards where she is able to give back to the community.
